Nam-Tso Lake

Nam-Tso means 'Heavenly Lake.' It is considered one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. The lake lies at an elevation of 4718 m, and has a surface area of 2 470 square kilometres. It is the highest salt lake in the world, and largest salt lake in the Tibet Autonomous Region. The water here is a storybook crystal-clear blue. Clear skies join the surface of the lake in the distance, creating an integrated, scenic vista.
